We all know about Private Health Insurance but not everyone knows about Health Cash Plans which are quite different from Private Health Insurance.
A health cash plan could save you money on medical, dental and optical expenses as well as some alternative therapies from a chiropodist or chiropractor, homoeopathy, acupuncture, physiotherapy and osteopathy.
They will also pay some contributions towards the expenses after having a baby, spending time in hospital and hospital care of the elderly.
You basically pay a certain amount of money every month then whenever you have a treatment for something, you get some money back.
Health Cash Plans are cheaper than Private Health Insurance and are useful for people who regularly spend on areas of medicine that is not covered by the NHS.
You ‘do not’ have to undergo a medical to join a plan but obviously any pre-existing conditions are not covered. They do obviously have limits on how much they will contribute to your costs, with each benefit having a maximum annual payout depending on how much you pay out each month.
Schemes start from just under £5 a month for basic cover but there are a number of plans to look through so use the comparison sites.
