THE NHS DIY GUIDE TO BACK PAIN…

The NHS has launched a new clinically approved back pain tool for people suffering from back pain.

The new online back pain guide shows you how your back works, what can go wrong and how you are prevent back problems.

The clinically approved guide is packed with videos and images showing you how to maintain good posture at home, at work and while driving. It also explains how to lift heavy objects correctly and different exercises you can do to strengthen your back.

For chronic back pain sufferers it offers advice on the treatments available, including stretching, hot and cold packs, manual therapy, keeping moving and pain killers.

It is hoped it will be a useful tool and enable people to learn about the pain they are experiencing, and how to best manage it.

  1. I will link to this. I got to my physio who gave me a couple of exercises to do twice a day. Tough for an old dude like me. But then I cut my thumb at the base while opening a can of baby beetroot, so can’t hold anything in my right hand for a few days. I lost the toe-nail of my left foot last week. Having fun with nurses down the medical centre – normally come in with my grandson.

    1. OMG hutt, that cut sounds awful, how is it now? Hope the exercises have helped, I find them hard to do all the time as I get bored which is the wrong attitude I know. Hope you’ve had no more cuts or accidents.
