Hand Reflexology

To help with sciatica pain try holding your thumb or middle and index fingers against points which are located on the back of the knees, in the centre of the crease.

Apply firm pressure for at least one minute first at the back of your left knee, then at the back of your right knee.

Pressing these points can help to relieve sciatica and lower back pain. It can also help to reduce stiffness in the back and help flexibility, which can then improve your posture and increase your movements.

It can also help with arthritis in the hips, knees and lower back.

  1. I know there are a number of pressure points for different places. I had an acupuncture needle by my knee as part of my tennis elbow treatment. More use should be made of acupressure and acupuncture in treatments. The Chinese used them for thousands of years.

  2. I agree with you about acupuncture hutt. I found it helps my cervical pain and arm pain but not my lumber pain so until you have tried it you don’t know if it will help or not. Unfortunately the NHS used to let you have it but now its not so available. 🙂
