What is Huntington’s Disease –
Huntington’s disease, which is often called HD, is an hereditary disorder of the central nervous system. It used to be known as Huntington’s Chorea or HC. Huntington’s disease usually develops in adulthood and can cause a very wide range of symptoms. The disease affects both men and women. There are some fact sheets on the Huntington’s Disease website all about the disease.
My local hair salon(The Hair & Beauty Lounge) in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire is having a CHARITY NIGHT Friday 17th March, 6 – 9 pm in aid of Huntington’s Disease. Sufferer Sharon Cook (see link at end of post) is running the London Marathon to help fund research and raise awareness of this disease.
Treatments available at the salon will be for just £5 (which goes directly to charity) include nail files and paint, spray tans, wash and blow dry, hair up, hair curled, eye tint and wax. Plus there will also be some stall holders and a raffle. Details of these will be posted on the Hair & Beauty Lounge Facebook page.
