It involves no medication, dietary change, supplements or psychotherapy of any sort. Treatments are a series of one hour sessions, during which you will learn why your symptoms are there and, crucially, how to work with them to regain your health.
The treatment can also be administered by email, telephone/webcam or a combination of both. Mickel Therapy believes that a part of the brain (Hypothalamus) which is responsible for keeping your systems in balance, is working too fast, and that’s why people suffering feel overwhelming tiredness, as well as a number of other symptoms.
It is the role of the therapist to help you to see why you have symptoms and gives you easy to follow tools that help prove for yourself how you can, in fact, rid yourself of the symptoms. The therapy works in between your sessions with the therapist, with your own participation.
The actual notion of a talking therapy to help you free you of a hugely debilitating physical condition can sound a bit far-fetched, but the reported success rate apparently speaks for itself. On the main website it states that ‘to date, over 2000 people have successfully applied the tools and techniques of Mickel Therapy for CFS, ME, Fibromyalgia and other conditions’.
