I am a mum and wife to a lovely caring family. I’ve suffered with chronic back pain for over 30 years and started writing my first blog in 2007 which covered back and chronic pain. Since then I have written many more blogs for myself and customers. I find it takes me away from my pain to another place. I love it so much I think it should be part of a recovery process after illness or surgery. I hope you enjoy reading through my blogs.

I started a class on managing chronic pain and distractions was the first thing they talked about. Thank you.

I’m a big fan of distractions for dealing with chronic pain. It’s always good to get a few new ideas as things work differently for everyone. And I have to swap between things depending on how bad the pain is, my energy levels, concentration etc. Sometimes a crossword puzzle or snuggling up with a good book can be decent distractions, other times I don’t have the concentration to picking an area/room/draw to clean out and organise like this list suggests can be better 😊

Thanks Caz, you are so right about how pain changes as well as your concentration. I can go to another place when I write my blog and it totally distracts me from my pain and other times are can’t even put a sentence together.
