It’s Sleep Sunday and this week I thought I would write about the best sleep apps. Sleep apps have been around for quite a while now so there are a lot to choose from but here are some of the most popular ones.
.Sleepio which is a six-week sleep improvement program based on CBT for insomnia. It is designed by sleep experts and is available free on the NHS in some areas.
.Sleep Station is another six-week online plant which is a CBT course with a team of experts offering advice and support. This one is also free with a GP referral and prices do vary for non-NHS patients.
.Sleep School is an ACT-based app with a range of different programs to help you to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer (HEAVEN). It has a seven day free trial or a year cost £29.99
.Calm which is a very well known one guides you to sleep with sleep stories, guided meditation and music and also some masterclasses. The first seven days are free then it cost £28.99 a year.
.Headspace, another well known one is a mindfulness app which offers guided meditations for sleep, as well as stories. The first seven days are free, then it’s £9.99 per month or £49.99 for a year.
.Pzizz is a mixture of music, voiceovers and sound effects which are designed using the latest clinical research to calm your mind and help you to fall asleep. This one costs £4.49 a month or £48.99 for a year.
.Sleep Cycle- Sleep Tracker is a free app which will collate all the data you’d ever wondered about and then a lot more. It’s free, simple to use and makes getting to know your sleep patterns easy. You just need to set a time you want the smart alarm to wake up in the morning, then let the app do its thing. Free to download
.Slumber says it has the largest sleep library in the app store and over 7,000 5-star reviews, Slumber uses relaxing meditations, hypnotic stories and sound experiences to get you to sleep. You can get a free seven day trial then £37.99 for a year.
.Nature Sounds offers noises from the natural world to help aid sleep or relaxation. There are 13 soundscapes to choose from, including relaxing oceans, rain on grass, mountain forest or calming field. Another one that is free to download.
