FOR ME PERSONALLY, PERCKO IS THE BEST POSTURE TOP BY FAR…

PERCKO is a French Company who sell three different types of posture tops to help correct your posture and relieve back pain. Their website states their posture tops have given 50,000+ users less back pain. Just reading their story on their website of how it all started inspires you to give this product a try. They say that you will get benefit from day one of wearing one of their posture tops. They have three different tops to choose from, LYNE UP is for daily life, LYNE FIT is for sporting activities and LYNE PRO is ideal for manual activities or gardening.

As my readers will have seen from my previous posts I was given the LYNE UP posture top which they state is for daily life but I found the top to tight and uncomfortable but I did explain that maybe they were not designed for ladies who are top heavy. It was suggested I tried the LYNE PRO which they say is ideal for manual activities or gardening.

The fit of this posture top was much better with a seat belt like fasten at the front. You can immediately feel your shoulders being straightened when you put this top on. My worst shoulder arms and neck pain comes on quite quickly if I am at my desk blogging or making cards so I was hoping this would help.

It is quite amazing the difference it makes to my pain. I’ve had two spinal neck fusions so I’m pretty restricted on how low I can look down but wearing this posture top has meant I can quite happily sit at my desk for quite a while before I need to give it a rest or move around. I can now gets lots done in a morning or afternoon which would have taken me days before.

Whenever I’m doing housework I pop this posture top on as dusting and hoovering involves moving your neck around lots so this helped with this job as well. With my back problems I won’t be doing any gardening or manual activities but I’m sure it would work amazing for that. I cannot thank PERCKO enough for letting me try out this posture top.

PERCKO have kindly offered my readers a promo code backpainblog that will give 15% off to anyone who purchases a posture top from them :).

A CHAT WITH NICHOLA ADAMS ON BACK PAIN AND POSTURE…

Nichola Adams is one of “Britain’s most experienced and highly qualified consultants in back pain”.

Nichola provides professional support and advice to companies and individuals nationwide on how they can introduce measures and improvements to reduce the risk of back pain in the workplace.

Nichola and I had a lovely chat yesterday about back pain and how important it is that our laptop/computer screens and work stations are at the correct height as this is one of the biggest causes of back and neck pain in the workplace.

Nichola is an “Ergonomist” specialist. “Ergonomics” derives from the Greek words ‘ergot’ meaning ‘work’ and ‘nomoi’ meaning ‘natural laws’, and is the science of making products and tasks comfortable and efficient for human use.

Nichola regularly consults in ergonomic seating design, works with rehabilitation companies, and has designed her own range of orthopaedic chairs, so she knows exactly what to recommend for each particular person’s experience.

After experiencing her own back problems with sciatica and a coccyx injury, Nichola had a change in career and took a Masters degree in Health Ergonomics.

We chatted about how much emotions can influence the amount of pain we are in. Simply being aware that you are feeling angry and frustrated about something can influence your pain.

Nichola told me: “I spend a lot of time going into companies around the UK to advise them and help support and educate their employees about the importance of looking after their posture so they can reduce back pain in the long term.

“In my 12 years of experience supporting businesses, unfortunately I find it’s so often the case that people go to see a physiotherapist or an osteopath and then undo all the good work and treatment as soon as they sit back down and slump at their desk again. Simple changes to your workstation set-up can also have a powerful impact.

“It has long been understood that stress plays a big role in the amount of back pain a person might experience. The reverse is also true in that back pain can cause you stress. It’s important to recognise this in order to break the viscous cycle.

“Simple things such as deep breathing, recognising the impact of stress on your body and taking time out for yourself can all make a big difference.”

Nichola recommends a book all about this called ‘Healing Back Pain. The Mind-Body Connection’ by John Sarno. Dr. Sarno reveals how stress and other psychological facts can cause back pain and how you can be pain free without drugs, exercise or surgery! Something I know my readers would love to hear.

Dr. Sarno’s program has helped thousands of people find relief from chronic back conditions without drugs, physical therapy, or dangerous surgery. His book is available from Amazon.

It was lovely to chat to Nichola who is putting together another post for my readers with infographics and details on the correct posture while working (or playing) on your laptop or computer. It is actually law that companies should look after their employees in their workspace which means your workstation should be the right height etc.

DIARY UPDATE ON USING THE PERCKO RANGE OF BACK PAIN SUPPORTS…

PERCKO is a French Company who sell three different types of posture tops to help correct your posture and relieve back pain.

Their website states their posture tops have given 50,000+ users less back pain. Just reading their story on their website of how it all started inspires you to give this product a try. They say that you will get benefit from day one of wearing one of their posture tops.

They have three different tops to choose from, LYNE UP is for daily life, LYNE FIT is for sporting activities and LYNE PRO is ideal for manual activities or gardening.

As some of my readers will have seen from a previous post PERCKO approached me to see if I would be interested in trying the LYNE UP top to see if it helps with my back pain. They said that after wearing the LYNE UP for just 3 weeks I will see a permanent improvement in my posture position. Then after that initial 3 weeks they recommend the best way to keep your posture good is to wear the top 2-3 times a week.

Of course I said I would love to try the posture top especially now the weather has changed as I could easily wear it under my own clothes. The top arrived in a beautiful box with instructions on how to wear it and I was keen to get started with it straight away.

I will be keeping a diary of how my posture and back pain improves (hopefully) over the next three weeks and I will then post my honest review on the product.

Unfortunately, I struggled with the LYNE UP top which I felt was partly due to me being a bit top heavy. I just couldn’t get the top on without a lot of discomfort so they kindly put me in touch with the resident medical professional within the company to explain my problem with the top.

He got back to me straight away and said ‘About the fact that our top is very tight on your chest, you must be right. For some of our female users, it happened a few times. Most of the time, we have been able to solve the problem with a bigger size, so we can check if the size you have is correct. But sometimes we have not been able to solve the problem. So we decided to improve the product with our customers.’

Meanwhile, they have sent me the LYNE PRO back protection jacket which I received at the beginning of the week. This one was very easy to put on and I felt my shoulders being pulled back into the correct alignment for my back straight away. After wearing it for just one day on top of my clothes I realised that I had been working in my office for a longer space of time without needing to walk about like I usually do. Normally after about half an hour at my desk I need to have a break and often pop a hot wheat bag across my shoulders to help with my pain.
This company have been so obliging and really want me to get the best benefit for my back and so far I am pleased with the result. I will keep a diary over the next week or two and write another post on how I get along with this particular back protector top.
