I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although this product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.
Resonate Botanicals Qi of Calm Lotion is a natural relief for anxiety, stress and insomnia. As a chronic pain sufferer insomnia is something that I have to deal with on a regular basis. It is essential to control my pain that I have an afternoon rest but sometimes this can mean an extremely restless night, so I was looking forward to trying the Qi of Calm Lotion.
Having recently reviewed Resonate Botanicals Invigorate Lotion I can only say that these two products which are in attractive silver metal type container with a pump-action top would not look out-of-place in your bedroom or bathroom. This time the scent was even more powerful with chamomile, lavender, skullcap, green tea and passionflower which are joined by Ayurvedic herbs such as ashwaganda, which is considered a tonic for protection against stress and Brahmi, which is believed to support sattva, or the pure essence of consciousness. Brahmi helps to promote a balanced emotional state and aid with a restful sleep. With that long list of ingredients I felt it was bound to work.
In case you didn’t read in my previous post where Resonant Botanicals came from I will again put the details in this post. The story of Resonant Botanicals is a fascinating story which began with music, which was always featured in the family life of the makers of this product. Alongside the music that bonded the family together came a focus on natural herbal healing with a great-grandmother and grandmother who were both herbalist. You immediately resonate that you are dealing with a family who knows the business well. In creating Resonant Botanicals, they gathered together an eclectic and wildly talented group of people who shared the same philosophy and love of nature. In herbal medicine, the whole plant is extracted, with all its beneficial properties and all the “entourage” molecules are made available to assist in the relief process and while it is not patentable, these actions have been observed for thousands of years through many different cultures. This short story on Resonate Botanicals totally sold me that this product had to be genuine and I couldn’t wait to give it a go.
They tell you to apply about a dime-sized pump to the left side of your abdomen, just below my bottom left rib. This is an important place to apply the Lotion to as we have a number of CB2 receptors located in our spleen. Once activated with the ingredients in Qi of Calm™, our body begins to calm down. Another great place to apply Qi of Calm™ is below our chin on our neck, over the lymph nodes. If you’re suffering from bouts of insomnia, as I have often experienced they tell you to rub Qi of Calm™ over the abdomen, under that bottom left rib, and rub on the bottoms of your feet. Lots of acupuncture points on the bottoms of our feet will become sensitized, and the result is a beautiful night of restful sleep.
They also state that Qi of Calm™ is popular with travelers suffering from flight anxiety, PTSD sufferers, situational anxiety and General Anxiety Disorder relief, and the lotion is also safe for children.
Like their other products, the Qi of Calm is available in two sizes, an 8 ounce and a 2-ounce container. The 2 ounce one is safe to carry on if you travel by plane.
Life now is so much faster than when we were all children and young adults and you cannot help but be caught up in this fast pace rat race, so the Qui of Calm lotion sound a great product for when you are having a stressful day. My first try of the product was on one of those such days when I was exhausted from just getting through the day but my mind was full of junk that I could not put to one side. I first applied it below my chin and neck and then over my abdomen and a little on my feet as I have found acupuncture has helped me relax in the past.
I had also been listening to a program on the radio about sleep problems and they explained a simple relaxing technique by breathing in, to the count of 7, the holding it to the count of 4, then breathing out to the count of 7 again. The result was amazing, I can honestly say that I cannot think of a better word to describe this product and how it helped me relax and sleep better.
I have convinced myself that the counting also helped but at the end of the day, I now have a product which I can use as and when I need it and it will help me rest better in the afternoon and sleep better in the evenings.
